Paul PotterСтаж преподавания - более 2-х лет
Hi. My name is Paul. I’m from a city in the north of England. In 2003, I completed my Bachelors degree in Russian studies at the University of Nottingham in England. I came to Moscow to teach English nearly two years ago and I enjoy it immensely. I chose this profession because I would like to help those who have an interest in the English language, and Anglophone culture in general, to realize their goals.
During my time at one of the most popular English language schools in Moscow, I have been able to develop what I consider to be a very effective teaching method. I adopt a primarily communicative approach that helps students to relax and begin to speak English (this is the first barrier that I break down). Making mistakes is OK, if the student realizes precisely why he or she made the mistake. For this reason, I prefer to integrate the teaching of grammar into this communicative method. However, I do believe that grammar drills can be used very effectively to both eliminate mistakes and increase students’ confidence in speaking English.
I have taught English both to groups and to individuals whose ages range from 12 to 65.
My specializations are in general conversational English and Business English. I have experience using a number of well-known course books, the choice of which depends entirely on the student. In addition to this, I like to use ‘real-life’ materials, such as newspapers, magazines and clips from TV.
I look forward to seeing you!
